Vicki's Story
Looking back at high school, I have no clue what people thought. I rode the "line" most of the time, not sticking out too much or too little.
I always wanted to be a mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
The best way to relax, my favorite cocktail, hot bath and a good book.
I wasn't a very "wild" person. I did date two guys at once one time and true to my nature I did get caught at it.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have organization, perky attitude, and papers out of sight to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My biggest inspiration comes from God and family.
My husband retired from the Marine Corp so we moved about every three years from Millington to California.
I don't watch a lot of TV, a good book is much more entertaining for me.
My biggest surprise in life is having a long, happy marriage. 2013 marks 29 years of marriage in August and two besides that and still amazes me we haven't killed each other. We work together also, so basically we are never apart too much...Expand for more
. It works for us, not certain how every day but it does.
I learned patience and how to laugh at myself from my kids. Since I had them both before 25, we grew up together in a lot of ways. Walt wasn't always there to say to the kids "wait until your father gets home".
If I won $100 million, I'd give $5 million of it to my kids each, $5 million to my favorite charities and then spend the rest on mortgage, travel and quit my job.
My current age is 51. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be really old. I was so completely wrong.
My biggest victory so far is at 45 (other than kids and hubby), I got my motorcycle lincense!! In 2011, I bought a Harley Davidson Tri-Glide Trike. I love just being in the wind and the destination is just a bonus. Three wheels are much better for me, I don't have to remember to put my feet down and it won't fall over! Plus everyone else is much safer on the road too. I know my limitations and I always ride my own ride. I figure the future is an open road with many destinations and I'm going one trip at a time.
